Six medals for Neretvanski Gusar at a demanding regatta in Maribor

At the 48th International Rowing Regatta Maribor, held on 29 August in Bresternica near Maribor, we won a total of six medals.

The attractive but demanding course is located on the Drava River, on an artificial lake between two hydroelectric power stations, creating specific conditions on the water. Against strong international competition and excellent crews from across the region, our rowers showed excellent physical preparation and tactical maturity, winning two golds, three silvers and one bronze.

Our medallists were:

  • 🥇 Toni Jeramaz – 1st place, U15 men's single sculls (U15M 1x)
  • 🥇 Nika Cetina – 1st place, U19 women's single sculls (U19W 1x)
  • 🥈 Roko Mijić – 2nd place, U19 men's single sculls (U19M 1x)
  • 🥈 Roko Mijić – 2nd place, men's single sculls (M 1x)
  • 🥈 Luka Rajič and Matej Družijanić – 2nd place, U17 men's double sculls (U17M 2x)
  • 🥉 Nika Cetina – 3rd place, women's single sculls (W 1x)

Special praise goes to Nika Cetina and Roko Mijić, who handled an exceptionally demanding racing schedule and brought medals back to Metković in both junior and senior competition.

Congratulations to the entire team and coaches for representing our club so well in Slovenia.

We especially thank our friends in Slovenia, Roko, Marko and Tadej, for their hospitality.
