The weekend ahead, 12–13 September 2026, brings one of the most exciting sporting programmes of the season for Neretvanski Gusar. Our club from Metković will be active on two distant fronts: a large club team will race for medals at a regional cup in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while one of our leading rowers will represent Croatia on the international stage.

Regional test: Mini Cup regatta on Lake Rama
Most of our club squad, led by young cadets and juniors, will travel to the traditional Dalmatian Mini Cup rowing regatta on Lake Rama. The course is known for excellent conditions and the hospitality of the hosts from VK Rama, with whom Neretvanski Gusar has shared a strong sporting friendship for many years.
For our young rowers from Metković, this is an important test of form ahead of the most important domestic competition, the Croatian Rowing Championships for juniors and cadets, which will take place on Zagreb's Lake Jarun at the end of September. After strong performances over the summer, the aim is to bring another set of medals back to Metković and confirm our high position in the overall standings of the Dalmatian Rowing Federation Mini Cup.
International highlight: Nika Cetina targets medals in Plovdiv
At the same time, the Balkan Rowing Championships will take place in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. With an excellent performance at the selection control race known as "Crta" in Zagreb, where she recorded outstanding results among the junior women, Neretvanski Gusar rower Nika Cetina earned her place in the Croatian national team.
Nika faces a demanding schedule in Bulgaria, competing in two events. She will represent Croatia in the junior women's double sculls (JW2x) and in the junior women's quadruple sculls (JW4x). Following her Croatian Coastal Beach Sprint title and international experience earlier this year, Nika will be aiming for the podium and another strong performance at the Balkan Championships.
This weekend is another result of systematic and dedicated work in the club. While our youngest rowers gain valuable experience and points in the region, Roko Mijić's strong results, followed by Nika Cetina's two-event programme with the national team, show that Metković once again has rowers capable of competing on the largest international stages.
